OHM Leader looking for oil in India

OHM Leader is in full operation at the Indian West coast. Somewhat different conditions there compared to the North Sea. We asked Captain Jensen for a short report.

-OHM Leader is in full swing doing CSEM at the Indian Ocean. The Controlled Source ElectroMagnetic Mapping (CSEM) survey has been going well. So did the long journey from Norway through the Suez and the fearedGulf of Aden. But the crew and staff at OHM Leader did not have any problems, says Captain Halvor Roer Jensen.

-The operation is going ok, with only some small delays. We are working on
very deep water, app. 2000 meters deep, and with some current it is a
challenge to get the equipment on correct position at the seabed. But
all-in-all we are satisfied with the operation, and I hope our client is
satisfied with the progress.

OHM Leader will stay and operate in the Indian Ocean for some time before
she goes for new jobs in the Far East.

High skills on deck: OHM Leader has done her first CSEM survey in the Indian Ocean, and many member of the first crew are ready for travelling home. Photo Halvor Roer Jensen.

Unusual surroundings: Being used to see OHM Leader in Aberdeen or in Bergen, it’s rather exotic to see her coming to the harbor in Cochin in India. Photo: Kristian Evjen.
